All people like to have nice warm weather and I`m no different. It is great to have sunny warm days and you long for them when you are in the midst of winter. The snow is coming down and the wind is hauling and don’t forget that it is minus 22 degrees Celsius on top of it all. You can understand why most people like the warm south and prefer that over the cold north especially during the winter months. I understand that people has taken retirement and look forward to have some time resting and relaxing in the southern sun. The part missing in all this is usually with the warmth there is humidity and here in Montreal we are no strangers to humidity.

Would it be good for the health to stay in the south all winter.. I guess so and I`m sure that most people will agree the same. Could not find any negative on that one at all. Isn`t it great to have a place in the south to go to when that winter is at your door up here in the north.

An air travel finder can be the best tool you ever use, and with these top 7 money-saving tips you will get the best deals possible on you air travel:

Make your reservation as early as possible. At least 14 days in advance, but aim for at least 21 days in advance. After this time, the air tickets can easily more than double in price.

Be flexible with your travel time. Changing the day or the time of day can drastically reduce the price of your air travel. The best day to fly on is Wednesday, which is also the best day to book the flight on. The cheapest time to fly is early morning or late evening.

Fly during the off-season. Prices are a direct result of supply and demand. As demand goes down, prices go down as well, benefiting flyers.

Shop all the airlines. This is the most possible using a couple of key air travel finder companies that I recommend on my site. Being able to check all the airlines at the same time can get you the best deal.

A stopover instead of a direct flight can result in huge savings.

Membership in some clubs like AAA can get you discounts. With air travel prices at an all-time low this isn’t as influential on the price as it is shopping between the airlines themselves. You get much better deals using an air travel finder to check prices of the different airlines against each other.

Look into air travel packages. Purchasing your air travel, hotel, and rental car through the same place usually gives a huge discount. Using a bigger air travel finder will allow you to do all of this on the same website. I have recommendations for this on my site as well.

The prices on air travel tickets are a direct result of competition, inventory, and demand. Competition is the airlines competing with each other. Inventory is how many seats are left open on a given flight. Demand is how many people are looking for air travel tickets. By choosing the least-crowded flights that are the least in demand, you get the lowest price. It’s really that simple.

As you can see, there are many ways to get better prices. If you use a major air travel finder and choose the best days and times to fly, you can often get unbelievable deals and save a hefty amount of money in the process.

While an automatic sprinkling system certainly ensures greener grass and nurtured flowerbeds during the sweltering days of summer, not every household comes equipped with such a system and they can be downright expensive to install. Historically, the alternative to the built-in sprinkler system has involved setting up a hose and sprinkler and then manually relocating the water source to several strategic locations every thirty minutes for several hours. Despite all the detail and time this manual system receives, the sprinkler never quite makes contact with certain patches. Likewise, swamping also occurs at times because homeowners generally have more important things to worry about than whether it is time to switch the sprinkler. Luckily, the folks at LR Nelson are employed to worry about finding comprehensive watering methods for busy homeowners who don’t have the means, time, or desire to dig up the yard to install and intricate system of sprinkler pipes. Responsible for a bevy of creative lawn care solutions, the Peoria, Illinois outfit introduce this ingenious Raintrain traveling sprinkler.

With a rustproof cast iron construction, the sprinkler waters up to 13, 500 square feet, though covering a lesser area of 11,9000 square feet ensures more effective performance. The sprinkler arms adjust for varied spray patterns and arcs, throwing water from 15 to 56 feet. The sprinkler waters as it travels along a hose on a preset route, much like an electric model train, except with a hose as the rails. To water, the homeowner lays out the hose as desired, taking care to avoid dramatic corners or turnabouts that may result in hose kinks or a derailed sprinkler. A front wheel runs on the hose with the two traction-ready rear wheels bestride. The hose connects to the posterior of the sprinkler. For the best results, LR Nelson recommends a 5/8-inch hose, though a 1/2-inch hose may suffice, up to 200 feet in length. For sprinkling termination, the user places a shut-off ramp on the hose to lift the sprinkler off its “rails,” while simultaneous stopping operation. The shut-off ramp should be installed with at least five feet of hose between it and the spigot. The traveling sprinkler operates at two motor speeds, high and low. On high power, the sprinkler travels approximately 37 feet per hour, with a 1/4-inch water application. On low power, the sprinkler moves at a 21 feet per hour rate with a 1/2-inch water application. The simple installation requires no tools. The sprinkler weighs 18.1 pounds upon shipping. –Jessica Reuling

The Traveling Wilburys were one of the few supergroups that lived up to their promise, because they didn’t try to. Things started inauspiciously when George Harrison, needing a B-side for a 1988 single, called in friends Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison for assistance. Two albums later–the second without Orbison, who had passed away shortly after the first was released–the loose-knit collective had recorded material that was as durable, and occasionally eclipsed, the participants’ legendary solo work. The Wilburys succeeded due to a genial and contagious camaraderie that permeates both discs. What could have been a train wreck of ego clashes instead resulted in a frothy meeting of the minds. These guys are having a blast, trading lead vocals and harmonies on energetic folk-rock, quirky rockabilly, and Beatlesque pop that shimmers with the respect and esteem the members clearly hold for each other. Harrison and Lynne’s rather slick production polishes off edges that might better have been left unvarnished, but there’s no denying the loosey-goosey craftsmanship at work in tunes such as “Handle with Care,” “End of the Line,” and a striking Orbison performance on “Not Alone Anymore” that ranks with any of his finest. Both albums were million-sellers, but oddly went out of print for about a decade until Rhino resurrected them, adding two rare tracks per disc as well as a DVD of music videos and a band documentary. The resulting package is a comprehensive overview of a once–well, twice–in-a-lifetime project that, especially after Harrison’s passing, will never be repeated. –Hal Horowitz

“Pilot Dave” Hood, cocreator and host of the There Goes a… series of children’s videos, straps himself into a variety of flying machines in There Goes a Plane. Riding shotgun on a stunt plane that loops and whooshes to a dizzying degree, Hood does a lot of yelping, but he also succinctly and entertainingly describes exactly why airplanes defy gravity. (Adults can learn, too.) We learn the workings of passenger jets, and how the airline industry functions in various other ways, from selling passenger tickets to getting one’s luggage to its proper destination. The plentiful comic moments include the sight of Hood falling onto a suitcase conveyor belt.

In There Goes a Train, engineer Dave shows us around old and new trains, takes control of a freight train going top speed, and introduces us to steam engines, locomotives, and an old caboose. Plenty to see, lots of location shooting, big action for tykes interested in moving machines. Dave’s banter might go over the heads of some of the target audience, but you can ignore that.

There Goes a Bus is an information-jammed journey into the secret lives of the thundering buses that thrill us when we’re little. The beloved yellow and black ones are only the beginning: besides city buses, cross-country Greyhound types, and touristy double-deckers, we also get a lift on an articulated number (the kind that bends) and–the traffic stopper–a bus that, when driven into water, becomes a boat. Stops for maintenance and under-the-hood investigations keep the wheels going round and round, and rap sessions with a bus-driving honcho buckle us in for the long haul.

If you are one of those people that dread travelling any long distances for fear of travel sickness. If you’ve ever kicked off your holiday being copiously sick into a carrier bag, then you are well aware of the miseries of travel sickness. Well, fear not, here are some very useful tips to help keep it at bay.

Always start travel sickness treatment before travelling and try to relax and avoid over anxiety.

Keep clear of alcohol and eat only light meals before and during travel. A friend of mine who suffers quite badly, always eats raw vegetables like carrots and celery and claims it helps.

Avoid stuffy or fume-laden atmospheres. Sit or stand where plenty of fresh air is circulating, if in a car, then open a window. If you are on a bus, choose a seat between the wheels, the reason for this is you will feel less movement.

On aeroplanes, ask to sit in the area over the wings.

Stretch your legs or walk up and down the aisle in a plane or bus.

If you are on a boat, try and stay on deck and either scan the horizon or try and look at a point on the horizon.

Tray and avoid focusing on near objects…reading a book, looking at a map, or texting while travelling, this will only quickly trigger nausea.

If you are prone to motion sickness and can drive, then put your hands up to drive! Drivers rarely suffer from car sickness, as they are concentrating on their driving and the outside of the car..just remember if you have taken travel sickness medication beforehand, it can make you drowsy.

I hope you have found these travel sickness tips useful and will try them out on your next long journey.

Stops for maintenance and under-the-hood investigations keep the wheels going round and round, and rap sessions with a bus-driving honcho buckle us in for the long haul.

There is a lot that goes into planning a vacation, especially if airfare is involved. Getting the airline tickets, the hotel reservations, and vacation activities all lined up in advance can be a lot of work. It’s no wonder then that lots of people turn to a travel agent to help plan their vacation for them. Travel agents work especially well for folks who would rather just enjoy the vacation itself instead of having to be bothered with all of the details beforehand. So if you have been thinking about finding a travel agent to assist with your vacation plans, here are a few ideas to help you find the right travel agent for your needs.

Experience is very important for a travel agent. Over time agents are able to develop good relationships with other companies that are involved in the travel industry. Because of that, they can often get special deals on airfare, hotels, and other tickets or reservations that you might need on your vacation. So in general they can help you get better bargains in the area where you plan on staying. Of course, you’ll have to pay them for this experience and convenience, but many people feel that the expense is well worth it.

One of the best ways to find a good travel agent in your area is to ask around to friends and family members and see who they recommend. If you ask for recommendations on almost any subject you’ll find lots of people ready to give you their opinion, and travel agents are no exception. Very often, a good travel agent’s name will come up frequently as being recommended.

Another way to find a good travel agent is ,to look online for message boards that might have information about travel agents in your area. Or visit some web sites and look for testimonials from other customers who have used a particular agency. Then call the travel agencies that seemed to appeal to you most, and discuss your needs with them. Look for travel agents that want to get to know you and understand your likes and dislikes, so they can better understand how to plan your vacations in the future. Feel free to ask questions such as “How long have you been in the travel business?”, or maybe even ask for some referrals. If an agent seems too busy to spend time to get to know you, or answer your questions, then you need to look elsewhere.

Another consideration is to make sure that a travel agency is part of the American Society of Travel Agents. Membership in this society usually means that travel agents get to work with other members to find the very best deals for their customers. Membership also indicates certification of a particular travel agency and can be considered an indication that you will be getting excellent service from that agency.

Once you find a travel agent that you are comfortable with, remember that you need to work closely with them to help them provide you with the best service possible. Even though you don’t have to spend hours setting up the vacation yourself, you still will need to provide some input to help the agent tailor your vacation to your wants and desires. And also keep in mind that you have the right of final say on any vacation that is planned. But if you find the right travel agent using the suggestions listed above and work closely with them, most likely your vacation getaways will be a huge success.

The plentiful comic moments include the sight of Hood falling onto a suitcase conveyor belt.

A person who is traveling is always apprehensive and insecure. Primarily, the reason is that being in a foreign land and away from the secure environs of his home and the familiarity of his city, any person is bound to feel uneasy and perplexed. Add to that any untoward incident, like an accident or a health problem, and the picture of the uncomfortable and hassled traveller is complete. But, with the help of a travel insurance policy, the tourist/traveller can alter this unpleasant picture into a pleasant one.

Travel insurance not only makes life easier for a person who is traveling to a foreign land, but also provides a sense of security and the assurance of handling any unwarranted happening with ease. Whether the person is traveling alone or in a group, or whether he is on a family vacation or an official trip, an insurance policy that covers all the facets of travelling is the best way to deal with the uncertainties involved.

These days, travel insurance policies cover a spectrum of areas – from the booking and cancellation of tickets to arranging the accommodation in the new place. Besides, it also covers things like sickness and other medical complications and loss or theft of possessions.

Travel policies are also of various types. They can either be a single trip policy or an annual one. It is advisable for people who have to travel extensively to take up an annual travel insurance policy; and for people who travel once in a while, a single trip policy is the perfect option.

There is also a primary and secondary travel insurance policy that is available in the market. Primary insurance would mean that the travel insurance company will be the first one to pay, and secondary policy means that they are either the second or the last to pay after the insured has claimed from other insurances under which he is covered.

A travel insurance cover is the best way to guarantee a smooth and comfortable stay abroad, whether it is for pleasure or work.

Travel trailers, also often called caravans in many places outside the U.S., are small trailers that can be used as living quarters while traveling. Travel trailers are actually a part of a large family of vehicles having the same characteristics. Also belonging to this group of vehicles are the pop-up trailers, teardrop trailers, motor homes, and truck campers. Collectively, these vehicles are called recreational vehicles, or RVs.

The different kinds of recreational vehicles share several characteristics, so how can one differentiate a travel trailer from the others? Unlike motor homes that are vehicles in themselves, travel trailers are not. Instead, travel trailers are designed to be towed by other vehicles by means of a bumper or trailer hitch. One wouldn’t mistake a travel trailer for other towable RVs because of their style and their size.

Travel trailer lengths usually range from twelve feet to about forty feet. Those that are below eighteen feet in length are often called small travel trailers. These travel trailers are usually the simplest and can accommodate about four people at most. Small travel trailers would not weigh more than 3,000 pounds and thus can be towed by a family car or a small pickup truck.

Travel trailers of eighteen to twenty-five feet in length are classified as mid-range travel trailers. These travel trailers usually weigh 5,000 pounds or more and are designed to be towed by V8-powered trucks and SUVs.

Those travel trailers that measure more than twenty-five feet in length are called large travel trailers. These are often the most luxurious, equipped with amenities that make them look like moving condominiums. Large travel trailers can measure up to 12,000 feet and usually need a heavy-duty SUV or a large truck to haul them. These RVs can also carry the greatest number of persons, ranging from eight to ten.

Keeping yourself safe is travel advice that must not be taken for granted. Security should always be the first thing to be taken into consideration whether at home or outdoors. This is especially true when traveling because when you find yourself in unfamiliar places, you don’t know what the risks are.

Here are some safety tips to make sure you have a secure and happy travel:

Only bring the necessary things that you might need. For both overseas travel and local trips, travel light. A single bag is more than enough for all your belongings as any seasoned traveler will tell you. Having a single luggage allows you to move more freely and watch your belongings more carefully. Of course, having a free had will prove helpful in avoiding possible thievery.

Of course, our valuables should be kept close. Cash, credit cards, passports and other important documents are best kept in well-hidden places. The more ingenious the hiding place, the least likely our valuables will be stolen. Thieves usually target handbags, fanny packs, and outside pockets so avoid putting important items in them. In fact, avoid them altogether if possible. There are those who keep their valuables in a single pouch that they wear under their clothing. Another good travel advice is to keep the valuables in a hotel safe.

Try to bring travelers checks and credit cards rather than large amounts of cash especially during overseas travel. We all know how tedious and problematic a lost or stolen passport can be. That is why it is wise to bring an extra set of passport photos and a photocopy of the passport’s information page. That way, a replacement can be easily made when your passport is lost or stolen.

Bring only the essential things that you need whether you travel. In other words, travel light. If possible, try to pack everything in a single bag. Not only will this increase mobility, but it will also allow you to monitor your belongings more effectively. A free hand is always needed when countering possible malicious attempts.

Lastly, inform your family and friends of your itinerary. The importance of a social support system cannot be discounted. If you have plans to travel abroad for a considerable period of time, consider buying a telephone calling card. That way you are easily able to keep in touch with them especially during emergency.

Finally, coordinate your trip with friends or family who will be left at home. A social support system is important for security especially if you are to travel abroad for a considerable number of days. You could purchase a telephone calling card which would serve as a convenient means of keeping in touch with friends and family. This is so that in cases of emergency, you can easily contact them and vice versa. Make security a top priority and be alert and aware of your surroundings. Being on vacation doesn’t mean that your security should take a break as well. By following this advice, you can enjoy safe and secure overseas travel.

There are a lot of difference in the needs of business travelers and tourists. Even though hotels are meant to provide shelter for everyone, there are some that specialize in providing ideal comfort to the corporate people and some exclusively to the tourists. The common necessities for both the types of travelers are quiet rooms. Basically what the business travelers need are Internet access, a table and enough light allowing them to work properly.

Even though people have this wrong assumption that traveling is one of the costliest things ever, you can avoid accepting this statement as there are enough reasons for you to do so. You will just need to be a little more cautious and plan your travel efficiently that can make the whole process even more enjoyable and comfortable. There are various ways through which you can lower your travel costs which are as follows.

•	At first you need to you prepare a proper budget for yourself where the maximum amount you can spend will be mentioned and also the minimum amount you want to consume.

•	Choose the seasons while making your traveling plans as traveling during off seasons can really decrease your costs. The crowd is less and therefore the hotels charge lower prices. Look for offers than provide you discounts on both airfares and hotel accommodation. You have the option of traveling during the rainy seasons and winter which are considered to be the off seasons.

•	In the case of domestic travel, you can get yourself lodged into hostels and can even set up your own tent. These are specifically recommended for students who will not have a large amount of cash with them. These tents can be set up on recreational grounds that are welcomed and thus save you a lot of bucks also by not staying in hotel rooms.

•	Look out for off season discounts even if you are traveling domestically. These publications are offered only to lure customers like you that you can find through travel agencies, hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, journals, magazines, newspapers, etc.

•	If the place is not so far and can be commuted by using your own car then do so as it saves a lot on travel fare. Renting a car would be a bit more expensive but you can save by renting the ones that do not have an air conditioner and excess speed facilities, etc. If you travel in your own car, use the gasoline effectively and turn them off at traffic signals. But the best way to save more is by simply traveling in buses or trains.

•	You can use the internet to obtain valuable information on cheap travel, especially on travel fares, hotel accommodation and eating joints. Also try and gain more information about the place and the lifestyle that can help you to be aware of the places where residents go to eat at a cheap rate.

Travel insurance is a very important factor that makes up for your cancelled flights, medical expenses, lost luggage, etc. These travel insurance companies offer your concessions when you travel internationally. At any point of time, these travel insurances make your travel safer and more enjoyable.

Do you want to get paid to travel the world?

For some, it can be quite hard to imagine but some already live this lifestyle.

Getting paid to travel is great for people who are passionate about traveling. Seeing other cities and experiencing other cultures can make life very meaningful.

This may seem like a dream for most but in reality, there are a lot of jobs that pay for your travels and accommodations. You won’t have to take money out of your pockets but you do need to be passionate about traveling.

Obviously, most travel jobs are in tourism industry. Travel is almost synonymous to tourism. Lots of tourists mean lots of travel job opportunities and tourism is an ever growing industry.

Cruise Ship Jobs

Cruise vacation tours are commonly favored by lots of rich vacationers. The trip is fun and the service is superb. This industry hires a lot of people from different fields to work on cruise ships as part of a synergistic organization. Jobs may vary from the very basic blue collar jobs to the most skill oriented type of jobs to highly professional jobs.

Bartenders, engineers, bellhops, accountants, musicians and teachers all have a place in Cruise ships. It is a floating, traveling city and it needs employees to make it run.

If you have these kinds of skills, you might try your luck with a cruise line job.

Tour Escort

If you know a lot of stuff about a particular location, you can escort groups of travelers there. You will meet lots of interesting people while giving them an exciting and worthwhile vacation experience. You lead and educate them while enjoying the trip yourself.

You can work with an agency or you can work as a contractor or freelancer. You can also get tips and referrals from satisfied customers. Organizational and people skills are vital in this line of work.

Flight Attendant

Flight Attendants travel the world as part of their jobs. They can have a few hours for visiting destination cities. Some may even stay for days depending on circumstances.

Though airlines have strict requirements including age, training and education, the job is fun and the pay is great.

Some jobs are not directly associated with tourism but rather to public interest and arts. Jobs such as travel writing and travel blogging are examples of these.

Travel Writing

Travel writers write about their experiences about their journey. They also write their opinions about different places and cultures. Publishing media outlets may take interest in their work and in some cases publishers may buy the articles or hire the travel writer to write regularly for them. Travel expenses are sometimes paid by these companies in this situation.

Travel writing can be quite difficult to break into but with great writing skills you can create interesting articles.

Travel Blogging

Travel Blogging is almost the same thing as travel writing but the medium is the Internet and the audience is reached online. The essence of the job is pretty much the same as travel writing, writing stuff about the journey.

Money is made via online advertisements or affiliate marketing. Also, you can always write for other writer’s websites as a hired guest blogger.

Traveling Asia is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. When you travel to Asia, there are so many things to see and do; make sure that you plan your trip in advance. However, remember to leave some free time in you itinerary, because when you travel Asia, you want to make sure that you have the flexibility for an occasional adventure.

As the largest continent on earth, Asia offers travelers a huge variety of places to visit, things to do and, cultures to see. For first time visitors who travel Asia, we recommend the following:

Island Nations-

Indonesia:

One of the most diverse destinations for travelers to Asia, the Indonesian archipelago can provide enough exciting destinations for a complete trip. Whether you are seeking relaxation, natural beauty, cultural diversity or all of the above, Indonesia will show you an exciting and wonderful Asian travel destination.

Philippines:

Comprised of over 7000 islands, the Philippines has become on of Asia’s forgotten travel destinations. Due to a recent history that includes martial law and economic corruption, the Philippines has lost much of its previous tourist activity to its more stable neighbors. Those who do visit will enjoy beautiful spots like the Boracay beaches and Lake Sebu.

Japan:

For decades, the island nation of Japan has been a favorite destination for travelers to Asia. From amazing Zen temples to kitschy reproductions of western monuments like the Eiffel Tower, Japan has something for every traveler who visits. The hardest thing is fitting it all in.

Southeast Asia

Thailand:

The Kingdom of Thailand is the most popular tourist destination in Southeast Asia drawing more visitors than its neighbors. With both mountainous regions and a beautiful coastline dotted with amazing islands Thailand is one a must see for those who travel to Asia. The city of Bangkok, the largest in Thailand is one of the most popular in all of Asia, as well.

Vietnam:

A quickly emerging destination among travelers to Asia, Vietnam is reshaping its image among world travel destinations. From the beaches along the coast, to its soaring inland mountains, Vietnam offers travelers to Asia with a sublime experience.

Mainland Asia-

China:

Too vast for words alone, China is rapidly emerging as the top destination for travelers to Asia. As China continues to modernize both economically and socially, it is becoming easier for those who travel to Asia to visit one of the largest and most populous countries in the world. If you travel to China, follow a loose itinerary and try to see as much as you can.

Korea:

South Korea is one of the most westernized of all Asian nations. Travelers to Korea can enjoy the modernity of the capital city, Seoul; or they can try visiting beautiful natural wonders like Songnisan National Park.

India:

Another of Asia’s largest and most heavily populated countries, India is a complex and diverse nation unlike any other you will experience when you travel throughout Asia. Visitors to India will be enchanted by its unpredictability and surprising cultural dramas that exist among its inhabitants.
